OK it definately looks like an improvement to NXT V1 but my problem is it still basicialy has the same general look. Are there any improvements to its hardware. What does it do besides show images and make custom sounds? I can easily program an image renderer if I really wanted. As for sounds, that isn't really a big deal. I would probably look into it if it had some sort of voice recognition sensor. Other than the new color sensor (which hopefully you can buy seperately) I see no real incentive to buy this new robotics kit.

For a brand new buyer should I buy Ver 2 or Ver 1?
Version 1 has much more published tutorials etc.
But Version 2 is simpler & less expensive.
What do you think?
Thanks,

I bought 2.0 recently, but to be honest, I also had to buy the education resource set (£50) - as I desired a decent amount of parts and gears.

The combination of the two means you can build most 1.0 models (along with a large turntable which I got off ebay for a couple of quid)

I've had to mod a few programs , such as tilted twister, to use the new colour sensor, but the only thing I've failed at is the soduko solver as the 2.0 colour sensor just doesn't work well as a light intensity sensor.
